February 11, 2009 - Western Emulsions Inc. has named Phil Vandermost as Vice President of Public Affairs, responsible for government relations and communications, as part of its continued business growth in the western United States.
With operations in California, Arizona and New Mexico, Western Emulsions Inc. (WEI) manufactures road rehabilitation & asphalt surface treatment products. The company consults to a variety of public agencies on pavement preservation practices, helping optimize the cost-effectiveness of their street maintenance programs. WEI has been awarded several patents for its innovations in the asphalt emulsions industry, and its products are distributed nationwide through a carefully selected network of manufacturing partners.
Mr. Vandermost has over 20 years of marketing, public affairs and government relations experience in the real estate development and transportation industries. For the past eight years he was a principal in his own firm overseeing public affairs projects for organizations such as the Orange County Transportation Authority, City of Anaheim, City of Victorville, Shea Properties, John Laing Homes, and Stirling Enterprises. Prior to launching his own firm, Vandermost had public affairs management roles at The Walt Disney Company and The Koll Company.
Vandermost resides in Laguna Niguel with his wife Julie and their daughters. He is an avid musician and composer, independently releasing his own recordings and performing mainly in Southern California.
